Hidden functions make our life easier and save our time. This is especially crucial when we work with a tool on a daily basis. For software development one of the most important tools is JIRA from Atlassian, and below you can find some shortcuts or functions without which I can’t live 🙂
The “Z” key
Sometimes, when you are using the external screen the contrast or size is not appropriate and the displayed content is illegible. Try to press the “Z” key on your keyboard. Simple right? 🙂 Atlassian’s developers call this “Projector mode” and it works both for Product and Sprint backlog.

Other breaking shortcuts – tapping on keys from 1 to 3 allows you to switch between the Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog and Reports very quickly! Try it!

Drag and Drop
Make your life easier! You don’t have to use only “Send to” option for changing the position of the tasks in the Product backlog. Simple drag and drop is enough!

Bulk Change
My favorite one – when a lot of tasks should be changed, you can use “Bulk Change” option in right-click menu. Someone from our team has counted that it is time-saving when you have more than 8 tasks to change at once :).

Quick Filters
Did you know, that you can customize the quick filters section? Go to the Board settings and choose the Quick Filters from the left menu. And then click and be happy about your new, clean view!
